To be honest, I think its best to give Qari Basit the benefit of the doubt.

I know plenty of pious brothers who just don’t have the genetics to grow facial hair.

and Allah (swt) knows best.

While the brother’s qiraat is amazing mashaAllah…one must ask the question…where is his beard???
