Borrowed from Shaykh Faraz

Published by paradise1 under Sayings/Hadith

Salamu Alaikum guys,

I just wanna start out by saying i feel great, Alhamdulilah. It’s currently 7:48 am, I read some Qur’an earlier and now I’m about to go out to breakfast with the little brother :]

What a great way to start a day.

I was feeling pretty down last night, but as the sun rose this morning so did my heart. These beautiful summer days are truly a blessing from our lord, Allah (swt).  After all, we could be living in Alaska. [much love to my Alaskan brothers!!]

Anyhow, I was looking through a few sites this morning and stumbled upon Faraz Rabbani’s blog. Not only is it awesome that he actually has a blog, but his posts are actually pretty interesting too. As I was looking through it I saw a quote that stuck out to me. I liked it a lot and thought I would share it with you guys. It’s truly something to reflect upon.

Ibn Ata’illah said,
“The heedless arise and think what they will do. Those of understanding arise and wonder what Allah will do with them.”

And as you ponder over this I will be eating pancakes :-D !

Take care guys,

Masalam.

Salam again.

Published by paradise1 under General

Asalamu alaikum.

This time it’s from Hadithuna.

..kinda sounds like Zaytuna. Coincidence?

I’m still pretty new to this whole ‘blogging’ scene. I’ve yet to master the skill of writing down my thoughts in an organized fashion and i haven’t really posted anything of great importance yet. Be patient with me inshaAllah.

I really like the idea of a Muslim Blogging community though. This is definitely a good way for us to exchange ideas and spread knowledge. InshaAllah everyone who played a role in creating this will be rewarded for it.

Still figuring out how to work this thing. its actually a bit more complicated than ‘Blogger’ in my opinion.

But inshaAllah with difficulty there will be ease. ((inna mal usri yusra))

well. its 5am. and ill leave it at that.

until we speak again.

Masalam.

on Beauty.

Published by paradise1 under Islam

What is beauty?
What makes one beautiful?
Is it just one’s external appearance? Or could it be the manifestation of certain inner qualities into a form of outer beauty?

I recently stumbled upon a picture while browsing the net.
Now I’m not one to jump to conclusions but, subhanAllah, this had to be one of the most beautiful images i have ever seen.

It was of a young girl. I could tell she was young because of the absence of any gray hairs on her head and the fact that she did not have a single wrinkle on the small amount of skin that was visible; namely her forehead, hands, and some parts of her arms.

She appeared to be sitting by herself in an empty room, and had on a gorgeous, Indian styled, blue wedding dress

I could not see her face, or even her eyes. And the position she was seated in made it completely impossible to make out a figure. If anything, you could only tell that she may have been thin due to the width of her arms.

But why couldn’t i see the face? And how can i possibly claim her to be beautiful without having a face to put on that beauty, or even the shape of a body to gaze upon and admire?

. . .

Her face was hidden behind her hands.
They were raised up towards the heavens, she was praying to her lord.

She had humbled herself before God Almighty,
placing all her faith and trust in Him alone.
She was about to go begin a new life with a man she barely knew,
leaving behind all her family and friends.

All she had now was God, and frankly, that’s all she ever needed.

She knew that only Allah (swt) could protect her from harm.
That only He could grant her happiness and success, Majestic is He.

She knew that it was Allah (swt) who could create bonds of love and affection between husband and wife.

And she knew that He alone was worthy of worship.

So she cleared her mind, and forgot about everything else in the world.
Engulfing her self with thoughts of her Supreme Lord, she closed her eyes and prayed.

And despite all the gold and diamonds decorated over her body, it was the light which emanated from her heart and soul that shone brightest.

It was this light that pulsed throughout the picture. this faith and devotion in her Lord that materialized itself into pure, timeless beauty.

it was this that made her beautiful.

Blog test 1-2..

Published by paradise1 under General

In the name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful
All Praise and thanks is due to Allah (swt) and may His peace and blessings be upon his Holy Messenger (saws)

Asalamu Alaikum.

InshaAllah this will be the first of many posts

Before beginning anything, i believe it is always best to purify ones intentions.
I’m doing this for many reasons. Namely for my Creator. To please Him and gain His Mercy.

But for many other, less significant reasons as well; networking, da’wah, gaining knowlegde from the vast amount that can be found on other blogs, and sharing what little I know.

I pray all these things will please my Lord, and that he will grant us everlasting success,
for all success is from Allah (swt).  ameen

stay tuned..
